Katy Perry (born Katy Perry, real name Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson, Eng. Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson; October 25, 1984, Santa Barbara, California, USA) American singer and songwriter.

Perry was born in Santa Barbara in a family of two pastors. She is the middle child. Katie graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, California in 2003 and immediately moved to Los Angeles at age 19. As a teenager, she changed her surname to Perry because Katy Hudson was too similar to Kate Hudson. Perry a maiden name of her mother. The music of Katy Perry is largely influenced by the group: Queen, Nirvana, Alanis Morissette, Heart, Joni Mitchell, Incubus, and others.

After signing with the label Red Hill Records released the album "Christian gospel" in 2001 under the name Katy Hudson. In 2007 signed with Capitol Music.
